Background
Principal Designer, Wynne Wilson, grew up in Southern California, surrounded by endless groves of citrus and avocado, planted where extensive stands of Coastal Sage (chaparral) once flourished. She grew up sharing her family’s concern for wildlife and its vulnerable habitat. Fighting successfully for preservation of this valuable resource has been a major part of her life’s journey and family’s legacy. Through her work as a garden designer using primarily California’s native plant palette and sustainable materials, Wynne is able to continue this work, sharing knowledge, design, and hopefully inspiring others to follow in her footsteps. She has degrees in Environmental Design and Fine Art, graduating summa cum laude from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. She also has an extensive background in horticulture.
Terra Design consists of a dynamic, highly collaborative and creative team that pursues projects that promote their personal and professional philosophy of restoration, preservation, and education by utilizing their excellent design standards. As a full service design/build firm, we offer services as varied as native habitat renewal, site engineering, landscape architecture, and historical garden restoration. We have created gardens of all types and sizes - from large estate gardens to small commercial and restaurant settings, as well as over 150 residential gardens. Sustainable horticulture is one of our passions, and we apply the most successful and stunning planting combinations that will live on and inspire.
